My AI Assistant: How I Harness the Power of GEN AI for Efficient Writing

In this article, I'll share my personal experience on how I employ GEN AI as my trusted writing assistant to help write better and faster.

For instance, when writing an article on a new topic that I'm not familiar with, I use GEN AI to research and provide me with relevant and accurate information, saving me hours of research time.

GEN AI also helps me overcome writer's block by suggesting alternative phrases and ideas, ensuring that my content remains fresh and engaging.

By using GEN AI to proofread and edit my work, I've significantly reduced the time spent on revisions and improved the overall clarity of my writing.

There are two ways you can use GEN AI to help you in your work.

The first way is to give instructions to GEN AI and let it do the work. The prompt will be something like: "Help me write a 250-word article about.... The readers are.... The aim of the article is to... Please mention these in the article... The tone is...".

The second way is to treat GEN AI like a teacher and ask for feedback on your work. The reason is that you want to have more control over the writing style, so that the writing sounds like you, you want more control over content, and to exercise your critical thinking. It's a 50-50 partnership.

The prompt will be like this: "What do you think of my article?"

One of the feedbacks I got from GEN AI was: "Consider making the title more attention-grabbing by adding a personal touch or a hint of the benefits of...".

I prompted again: "Suggest an attention-grabbing title for my article."
GEN AI gave me 10 titles. I mixed and matched and got a more catchy title.

Then I submitted my draft and prompted: "I have amended based on your suggestion. Your feedback, please."

Finally, I prompted: "Please proofread my article without changing my writing style."

There you have it. That's how I use AI to improve my writing quality and write my article quickly. I encourage you to explore the potential of GEN AI as your writing assistant and discover the benefits for yourself.
